Start with a bag you already have

Bags and organisers hung beside cabin doors to receive gifts are known as fish extenders. planDisney introduces the tradition here.

Alongside purpose-made options, you could consider these bags if they can be hung in a permitted way:

  • A sturdy paper bag from a 100-yen shop
  • A favourite Disney bag
  • A goodie bag from a party

Check the handles and base, and choose a size that does not project into the corridor. Do not leave bags on the floor, and ask crew where you may hang them. Over-the-door organisers are not allowed. Refer to the official door-decoration rules too.

Giving back, when you would like to say thank you

You do not have to give something back for pixie dust. On our October cruise, we sometimes delivered a thank-you gift using the cabin number written on a gift we had received.

Putting out a bag does not guarantee a gift. It is lovely to approach it as a happy surprise if something arrives.
